Avon Foundation has a new round of grants concerning domestic violence.
They fund legal services programs.
The Avon Foundation launched the Speak Out Against Domestic Violenceprogram in 2004 to raise awareness of this tragic epidemic and to help break the cycle of violence. Speak Out supports awareness, education, prevention and direct service programs.
Proposals will be accepted from domestic violence service providers and legal service providers that:
* Offer innovative legal and support services to achieve justice and safety for victims and improve the ability of a custodial parent to manage parenting in a safe way.
* Demonstrate success in developing or expanding a model of collaboration focused on assisting with child safety, particularly with child custody issues, child exchanges and supervised visitation.
* Increase legal training and direct services in the court process to reduce the traumatic experience of children witnessing and experiencing violence.
* Provide free technical assistance to attorneys in order to reduce the traumatic experience of separation and divorce on children.
To be considered for funding please submit your proposal postmarked by April 1, 2009. The funding period will be from October 1, 2009 -September 30, 2010.
